Current Market Crisis in the US

    

         

of a downturn, because the guy who lost his job can't buy luxuries like groceries. Therefore, the cycle continues.
    
     Rebuilding that confidence is what is needed. The government is trying to help by infusing money into the economy. Unfortunately, this is problematic, because the billions that are used to lift us out of the recession today will have to be paid back tomorrow. What needs to happen is for people to start believing in the economy again. Spend, if you have the money. The only way to stimulate the economy is for regular people to start purchasing goods and services again.

     It would also help us if the rest of the world would buy our goods. But, they are in the same fix that we are. Other countries are as hard hit as the US, and can't afford the exports that they once bought. Expecting someone else to lift the US economy out of its doldrums is a false hope. We have, by far, the largest economy in the world. It would take a large combined effort to effect any lasting change.

                                   This is what is needed. The American people need to trust that the economy will start moving again. Credit needs to be freed up to the point that people who can afford it are allowed to purchase goods. Because only with exchange will this economy start moving again.
